Looking at the screenshots (https://www.amigashop.org/images/Screenshot%206.jpg), the first thing I noticed is the abundance of verbs: look at, open, close, pull, push, look around, use, turn on, turn off, go to, turn around, take, give - that's got to be a record...

This doesn't look unusual. I count 13 commands and Indy 3 had e.g. 14. If my memory serves well, that was quite normal.

Right... my memory is apparently skewed by later LucasArts games (like Indy and the Fate of Atlantis - https://cdn.mobygames.com/screenshots/15880259-indiana-jones...) that had whittled it down to 9 commands.
