Canceling my nitro


Heh, I cancelled my newspaper sub once they went hard-paywall. I was happy to support the freeloaders but not once they axed them.

Made for a confusing desub call.

I’m sure they’ll come out ahead but at least I know I hurt their user-hostile project’s ROI a bit.


Reminds me of YouTube Red (as it was called at the time) where they were really pushing these original premium films. But my favourite part about YouTube is that I can share the videos I watch. As a subscriber it was actually doing me a disservice to lock them up because I wanted my friends to watch them and discuss.


I basically don't think Discord is ever going to be able to support my platform of choice properly at this point (Linux).

I hope this company crashes and burns, especially for what they've done to documentation availability across projects.

But... they support "your" platform? It is running stunningly well on Linux. What are you talking about?


Screen share with audio. Basic functionality missing from it.

There are third party clients that add this functionality.
